Kyoto Hemp Forum Notes - Hemp Solution To Lead Caused Violence

How to reduce violence? Get rage causing lead out of the water. How? A combination of removing the lead using a natural process called phytoremediation from the soil and by using hemp and 3d printing to create a new infrastructure that does not have lead pipes yet does have ample water cleaning stations throughout the process from source to consumption.

It is time to review government approved legal levels of lead in our water and soil. There is substantial evidence that lead causes violent behavior going back to the age of Ancient Rome that used lead pipes to deliver water to citizens. The theory that 'Nero fiddled while Rome burned' is in reference to the people driven mad from the water flowing through the lead pipes from the aqueduct to the buildings. We can do a lot to save ourselves with a little bit of common sense.

Even in modern times, whenever my attention is drawn to a USA violence problem, i.e. Detroit, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois, there is a problem with too much lead in the water in that city/town. The mental health condition use to be called plumber's or painter's colic.

Princeton University issued a report:

"Violent and anti-social behavior is usually attributed to social factors, including poverty, poor education, and family instability. There is also evidence that many forms of violent behavior are more frequent in individuals of lower IQ. The role of exposure to environmental contaminants has received little attention as a factor predisposing to violent behavior. However a number of environmental exposures are documented to result in a common pattern of neurobehavioral effects, including lowered IQ, shortened attention span, and increased frequency of antisocial behavior. This pattern is best described for children exposed to lead early in life, but a similar pattern is seen upon exposure to polychlorinated biphenyls and methyl mercury. Although not as extensively studied, similar decrements in IQ are seen upon exposure to arsenic and secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure. Prenatal and postnatal SHS exposure is also associated with increased rates of conduct disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity. Recent evidence suggests that temporal trends in rates of violent crime in many nations are consistent with earlier preschool blood lead trends, with a lag of about 20 years. These ecologic correlations are consistent with many controlled studies suggesting that lead exposed children suffer irreversible brain alterations that make them more likely to commit violent crimes as young adults. If this pattern is true for lead and other contaminants, the most effective way to fight crime may be to prevent exposure to these contaminants." May? It's time to stop being trifling and clean up our environment. The problem is not the gun, it is the mind controlling the finger on the trigger.

While some politicians lie and say the cause of violence is guns, the real cause of much if the violence could be too much lead in the water. That's something we can fix, thereby dramatically reduce our violence level from a proven root cause. At the bottom of this article is a list of studies and articles on the subject.

CNN’s United Shades covered the violence in Camden, NJ, a town with a lead problem since the last century. There's also Flint where the government intentionally put lead in the water and many other places. The water from Flint runs into Detroit. Chicago has old lead pipes built into its infrastructure. The list of areas with a lead problem is long and unattended.

We must fix this by 5D, 4D, 3D printing a new infrastructure made from locally grown hemp to replace toxic lead in the pipes with non-toxic materials.

When the problem is violence the solution is to peacefully resolve the issue. When the problem is lead as a cause of violent behavior, the solution is to clean up and/or safely restore the excess lead to it's natural position in the world.

LEAD CAUSES VIOLENT BEHAVIOR - GET THE LEAD OUT!
How?

1. Use hemp to clean the soil via the science of phytoremediation.

Phytoextraction

"Phytoextraction has been proven effective at a brownfields site in Trenton, New Jersey for remediation of lead-contaminated shallow soils (Blaylock et al., 1996). Approximately 50% of the lead was removed from the surface soil (~ 700 mg/kg) in order to achieve clean-up standards (400 mg/kg) in one year using Brassica juncea, a relative of the mustard family. For phytoextraction to be effective, one needs vigorously growing plants (and 3 tons dry matter/acre-yr), an easily harvestable aboveground portion, and a plant that accumulates large amounts of metals (~ 1000 mg/kg) in aboveground biomass. To achieve clean-up within three to five years, the plant must accumulate about ten times the level in soil (for example, if the level in soil is 500 mg/kg, then the concentration in the plant must be almost 5000 mg/kg to clean-up the soil in a few years). Some sites have metals that are bioavailable while others do not. Generally, cadmium, nickel, zinc, arsenic, and copper are relatively bioavailable while lead, chromium, and uranium are not taken-up and translocated to the harvestable biomass. Plants which accumulate nickel, cobalt, copper, manganese, lead, zinc, and selenium have been reported in the literature (Kumar et al., 1995). Zinc and boron are phytotoxic to some plants at levels above 200 mg/kg in soil. Addition of EDTA (0.5 to 10 µg EDTA/kg soil) has greatly enhanced the bioavailability of lead, but the enhancement must be weighed against the increased probability of lead migration to groundwater. Mathematical modeling of water movement and metals transport may be required to further understand the fate of lead under these conditions." (pages 14 and18 of the .pdf)

2. Use 5D, 4D and 3D printing to rebuild our infrastructure using hemp as the primary raw resource material.

Clean water on the memory level i.e. Hydreva to remove toxins that cause both physical and mental health problems that are proven to be a cause of violence and many other problems in search of solutions.

Above plants grown under identical conditions
with and without Hydreva

We must act now! A key to reducing violence is to remove the excess lead and other toxins that are harming us. We must combine science and common sense to reach necessary truths so we can restore balance.

As was the case with crack and AIDS, the victims of government policies are blamed for not being able to overcome the scientific results. A report called The Color Of Crime, 2016 Edition was published that says the USA violence problem is rooted in race:

• "The evidence suggests that if there is police racial bias in arrests it is negligible. Victim and witness surveys show that police arrest violent criminals in close proportion to the rates at which criminals of different races commit violent crimes. • There are dramatic race differences in crime rates. Asians have the lowest rates, followed by whites, and then Hispanics. Blacks have notably high crime rates. This pattern holds true for virtually all crime categories and for virtually all age groups. • In 2013, a black was six times more likely than a non-black to commit murder, and 12 times more likely to murder someone of another race than to be murdered by someone of another race."Once again, it is time to look beyond the effect and get to the real cause of violence. I grew up in a large family in the middle of the last century with a back porch full of guns. Nobody shot anybody.

The report does not factor in what's called environmental racism, where minority communities are subjected to excess amounts of lead and other toxins. For example, with buildings from the 1930's and 40's still standing in use, Harlem is surrounded by 5 open sewers, 3 of 4 sides with major highways in close range that use to throw off lead from the cars, etc.

Of course with nuclear, fracking, GMO's, oil spill technology, etc., it's getting environmentally bad for all of us.

I'm still researching and putting this tapestry together.

  • What if hemp can help reduce violence and lead poisoning?
  • What if the peace pipe gives folks an opportunity to engage in non-violent conflict resolution?
  • Can medical marijuana, like Rick Simpson's Oil, help with physical conditions created by lead exposure, which is creating a lot of stress in people's lives?

We already know based on results the answer to those questions.

Below is a list of studies, papers, articles on the subject of lead as a cause of violent behavior i.e. Harvard paper and a Mother Jones piece. Forbes  also has an excellent article on the subject.

My blog entry Phytoremediation - Nature's Peaceful Solution To Industrial Pollution has many articles and videos on the science of phytoremediation, i.e.

"Overall, phytoremediation has great potential for cleaning up toxic metals, pesticides, solvents, gasoline, and explosives. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that more than 30,000 sites in the United States alone require hazardous waste treatment. Restoring these areas and their soil, as well as disposing of the wastes, are costly projects, but the costs are expected to be reduced drastically if plants provide the phytoremediation results everyone is hoping for."

Govt. knew about Camden lead problem since the beginning of this century, at least

NY  lead-pubs

This piece is a continuation of the work done at an amazing meeting in Kyoto, Japan on July 2, 2016, the Kyoto Hemp Forum, produced by the Japan Hemp Association. The event discussed the hemp solution to climate change.

This international gathering radically intensified research on the need to, as Paul Stanford says, RESTORE HEMP! The group is going forward to promote and unite farmers to get hemp and other phytoremediation seeds into the ground.

In addition to climate change, hemp phytoremediation removes many toxic metals from the soil with its 6 foot root system. One of those metals is lead, a cause of many physical health problems and violent behavior.

It's old school knowledge that the best way to solve a problem is at the level of cause. Since one of the cases of violence is lead, it's time to get the lead out.

It's Time4Hemp.

Let me know what you think, please.

Thanks.

Time4Hemp Solution Summit: A Cutting Edge Energy Of Change

"IT'S TIME 4 HEMP PROHIBITION TO END - 2013 GLOBAL SUMMIT."
Keynote Show Pt. 1: Casper Leitch & Paul Stanford & Todd McCormick
on August 1, 2013 Time4Hemp issued a call for the hemp solution world wide
Final show in the six part solution summer series
Friday, 8/31, 9a-11a PT / 12n -2p ET

Since the start of the series:

Attorney General Eric Holder changing his stance

Dr. Sanja Gupta said on CNN that he was wrong about weed

Senator Patrick Leahy convening a hearing next month on marijuana legalization

If you are not listening to or advertising on Time4Hemp, you are missing an important element to ending the war on drugs and direct reach to a large and dedicated hemp positive audience.

Once again the historic broadcast program Time4Hemp has a leadership position in the charge to end the horrific drug war with the currently running summer series "IT'S TIME 4 HEMP PROHIBITION TO END - 2013 GLOBAL SUMMIT." The original marijuana broadcast, Time4Hemp is hosting this month the keynote show (webeo on top of this article) plus five - two hour commercial free programs on Fridays in August.

That series prepared me for the extraordinary events that followed the rest of this month.   If you have not been taking Time4Hemp, especially this month, I urge you to go to the site and listen / share this extraordinary summit series as well as many other great programs found in the archives.

The show started in the early 1990's and the solution summit series started on August 1, 2013. High Times Freedom Fighter Casper Leitch, the program's founder, high host and producer, courageously began the hemp solution summit conversation on his historic broadcast with medical marijuana activist and author Todd McCormick  and industrial hemp and medical marijuana clinics pioneer Paul Stanford.

Casper began by saying that for decades he has been listening to all the excuses for why hemp is not yet legal, or exposing the lie that there is not enough study done on medical marijuana or reporting on the horrors of people being murdered or jailed for decades for interacting with a plant.  He conveyed enough is enough and began the conversation of the why and how to implement the hemp solution.  The series of guests, as usual are extraordinary, to say the least.

The shows are broadcast on both American Freedom Radio and now on the Time4Hemp site live and archived.

Here's what happened after the series started.

On August 8th came the story "Eric Holder May Release Sweeping Drug Sentencing Proposal, Admits Current Practices Are Discriminatory"

""I think there are too many people in jail for too long, and for not necessarily good reasons," Holder said in the interview, turning from the department's highly criticized crackdown on drug law enforcement. As NPR noted, almost half of the people in federal prison are serving time for drug charges.
"The war on drugs is now 30, 40 years old," he continued. "There have been a lot of unintended consequences. There's been a decimation of certain communities, in particular communities of color."
Holder hinted in the interview that the changes could include better prioritization of federal law enforcement and shortened sentences for minor drug offenses. According to NPR, Holder could announce his proposal as early as next week in a speech to the American Bar Association in San Francisco.""
The Holder piece came out around the same time as the confession of the great Dr. Sanja Gupta about he was wrong about the effectiveness of medical marijuana.

Why I changed my mind on weed
By Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta is a neurosurgeon and CNN's chief medical correspondent.

"Long before I began this project, I had steadily reviewed the scientific literature on medical marijuana from the United States and thought it was fairly unimpressive. Reading these papers five years ago, it was hard to make a case for medicinal marijuana. I even wrote about this in a TIME magazine article, back in 2009, titled "Why I would Vote No on Pot." I apologize because I didn't look hard enough, until now. I didn't look far enough. I didn't review papers from smaller labs in other countries doing some remarkable research, and I was too dismissive of the loud chorus of legitimate patients whose symptoms improved on cannabis.

Instead, I lumped them with the high-visibility malingerers, just looking to get high. I mistakenly believed the Drug Enforcement Agency listed marijuana as a schedule 1 substance because of sound scientific proof. Surely, they must have quality reasoning as to why marijuana is in the category of the most dangerous drugs that have "no accepted medicinal use and a high potential for abuse." They didn't have the science to support that claim, and I now know that when it comes to marijuana neither of those things are true. It doesn't have a high potential for abuse, and there are very legitimate medical applications. In fact, sometimes marijuana is the only thing that works. Take the case of Charlotte Figi, who I met in Colorado. She started having seizures soon after birth. By age 3, she was having 300 a week, despite being on seven different medications. Medical marijuana has calmed her brain, limiting her seizures to 2 or 3 per month.""

As mind blowing as that change of heart was, I am even more blown away today with the news that;

Sen. Patrick Leahy: Atty. Gen. Holder, Justice should help hash out conflict with state pot laws By Valerie Richardson The Washington Times
"The Senate Judiciary Committee chairman announced Monday that the panel will hold a hearing on marijuana in what comes as the latest effort to smoke out the Justice Department’s input on the conflict between state and federal pot laws.

The hearing, scheduled for Sept. 10, comes 10 months after Colorado and Washington voters legalized recreational marijuana in the November 2012 election.
Since then, federal and state lawmakers have repeatedly asked the Justice Department for guidance on how to proceed with the newly passed laws, which run afoul of federal law prohibiting marijuana consumption and sales.
Invited to testify at the hearing are Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.and Deputy Attorney General James Cole. Mr. Holder said in a speech before the National Association of Attorneys General that he would issue guidance “soon,” adding, “We’re in the last stages of that review.”"
As a hemped Christian Scientist, I have always believed that coincidence is God working under cover.  The coincidence of these events within weeks of each other has a divine freedom ring to it in my hears and my soul.

Again, thank you Casper Leitch, the Time4Hemp production, joint host and guest team for calling the solution summit this month.  Your show on August 1, 2013 marked what may be considered a most amazing and the final push for now being the time the drug war died.

Though there is continued excellent programming on the show Monday - Friday on both the Time4Hemp site and American Freedom Radio, I cannot urge you enough to take Time4Hemp 9a-11a PT / 12n-2p ET for the final segment of this historic series on Friday, August 31, 2013.

Soon hempsters all over the world will be resounding Dr. King's cry 'FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST, THANK GOD ALMIGHTY, WE ARE FREE AT LAST.' Truth is setting us free.

Hemp Is The Best Global Warming Solution We Have!

New USA Hemp Museum Address
www.hempmuseum.us

CNN recently reported like it was news "Global warming is epic, long term study says".

We are engaged in the biggest DUH! of this century. There is no more denying Global Warming, Climate Change, whatever folks want to call it, the result is the same. We need to clean up this mess now!

Talk about 'what are we pretending not to know and why?  Our leadership is wondering what to do about climate change, while pretending not to know the hemp solution is the best solution we have to solve this problem, and a whole lot more.

I find myself asking this question to folks frequently. 'What would you do if you knew a simple, peaceful solution to our problems is illegal? Would you demand that your government work for the good of the people? Would you educate yourself on how to implement this solution?'  The survival instinct always kicks in, unless they are elected and appointed officials, and folks want to live as long as it's not hopeless.  Hemp is never hopeless.

Let’s solve global warming. A good next step is to read the book Hemp For Victory: A Global Warming Solution by Richard M. Davis, now available on amazon.com.  Davis is the founder and curator of the USA Hemp Museum -  www.hempmuseum.us , a private museum with a virtual wing. His book is an enhanced visit to the museum’s Environmental and Biofuels rooms.  He has two other hemp books on amazon HEMP FOR VICTORY: THE WONDER HERB on medical marijuana and HEMP FOR VICTORY: THE TRILLION DOLLAR CROP on how hemp can help fix the economy, i.e. the rise of medical marijuana businesses and the drop in unemployment numbers to 7.7%.

Below is an excerpt from Davis' book HEMP FOR VICTORY: A GLOBAL WARMING SOLUTION, Chapter 2, Hemp, Biofuels and Global Warming.

"Who: Every person on earth is at risk of dying from the effects of global warming. Global warming is also impacting on food, war, clean water and ultimately, human life on earth. We cannot live and keep our heads in the sand. Hemp biofuel burns clean, and hemp breathes in the excess global warming CO2 gas from the air as it grows.
Every person on earth deserves the means to food, clean water, shelter and other amenities. Hemp can help at every turn. Our forests are being cut mercilessly, hemp can help. Healthy forests clean the water and restore the carbon dioxide balance. Hemp can supply paper and building materials like press board, plaster, cement and plastics for shelter. Hemp can supply a complete protein and valuable fish type heart healthy oils, without which malnutrition can occur. Hemp is wind pollinated, which helps as an alternative food source in the face of the “disappearing bees” problem.

Hemp biofuels are domestic, plant based energy sources. Hemp grows quickly, breathes in carbon dioxide from the air as it grows, exhales oxygen as it grows, burns clean and can be economically produced and distributed. Wherever petroleum is used, it can be quickly replaced with hemp bio-fuels, which include alcohols, seed oil and wood, to produce energy. Hemp, a safe energy source, can be grown, processed and shipped from the same location without the need for a lot of storage space, empowering family farmers, oil processors and other ancillary businesses.

This shift can empower the true foundation of the American economy, the family farm.

AMAZINGLY, WITH HEMP, THE FOSSIL FUELS BURNED AND POLLUTING OUR ATMOSPHERE ARE AVAILABLE ONCE AGAIN AS A RESOURCE, UNTIL A FAVORABLE CO2 LEVEL IS REACHED.

What: Hemp bio-fuels have the power to replace fossil based oil, coal and gas quickly. Basic alcohols such as methanol, ethanol or butanol can be made from hemp to power automobiles, trains, planes, and any other power need.

Ethanol is now being used as an additive in gasoline to reduce pollutants. Vegetable oil from hemp can be mixed with methanol to make bio-diesel. Bio-fuels from tree wood are currently being used in thirty-three California energy plants.

Hemp can compete with tree wood, and leave the tree wood as an expanding carbon sink. Rather than coal and other polluting energy sources, alternative energy sources such as hemp must be employed. Hemp fuels do not cause acid rain as do fossil fuels.

When: NOW. THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! Any excuse for not legalizing and subsidizing the growing of hemp to mitigate and reverse global warming puts us all at risk. Until we all rise up and demand government action to legalize the growing of hemp, all we will hear are excuses.

First, convert from petroleum to hemp biofuel and other clean, efficient energies. The emergency in World War II showed us that hemp can be brought into production in as little as two years. Let’s get started now. California in 2006 came within one signature of having legal industrial hemp when the Republican Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed the legislation. We hope for a quick reconsideration and passage of that bill.

Where: We need to begin at the source of the problem. Make no mistake about it, we are the problem. We must conserve to show the rest of the world that life can be lived and enjoyed without all the energy we now produce through oil and nuclear. Wherever oil or nuclear energy is used to power things, replace it with a clean, safe alternative like hemp bio-fuel, wind or solar power. We need to research the possibility of using some of our preserved lands to grow hemp on a temporary basis, or subsidize the growing to get it started as Europe has done. Hemp is a strong, sturdy plant that with a little bit of tending, produces great rewards.

Why: Given the dynamics of Global Warming, we are in danger of losing our lives. Tsunami, Katrina and other bizarre weather conditions are clues that when man outlaws nature, and has no respect for her laws, she responds in undesirable ways. Why, because we have a plan of action that has the potential to transform a crisis into a new more self-sufficient and lasting energy policy with hemp.

How: Re-hemp the planet.

Establish a seed bank and empower seed production. Use government land for growing hemp. Ice bergs can be harvested to supply additional irrigation and clean drinking water needs. Issue hemp stamps. Make information available on line to link and empower local growers. Replace farm subsidies with hemp incentives. Replace that which is killing us with that which enriches us.

Diesel trucks and cars can already run on hemp bio-diesel fuel. Other cars can be converted to use any mix of gas or alcohol by using a Flex Fuel Conversion kit. The conversion process creates many short term business opportunities for folks who know how to install a Flex Fuel Conversion kit. On line, have conferences of ‘car and biofuel folks’ interested in starting businesses to do the conversions. This is a short window (maybe 3-5 years) business, but can generate substantial profits based on volume and fair pricing.

Another promising alcohol fuel from hemp biomass is butanol. “According to Environmental Energy, Inc., butanol can run in unmodified gas cars. In the summer of 2005, EEI drove an unmodified ’92 Buick across the US running on butanol…EEI uses a patented, two-stage process to convert biomass into butanol.” (www.solarpower.org)

Let each individual begin within."

We’ve made nature’s hemp plant, a biomass champion at scrubbing the air of excess CO2, illegal, and wonder why we have a problem with the environment.

We’ve made clean, easily and quickly renewable energy sources, i.e. hemp biofuel, illegal while woefully under funding or not funding clean and/or free energies like magnetic, hydro, solar, wind, algae, etc. and wonder why we are at the mercy of toxic energy sources.

We’ve made our number one cash crop illegal, jailed over 800,000 people on hemp related crimes, lost tax income on millions of hemp transactions, failed to gain the benefits of hundreds of thousands of hemp related jobs, and wonder why our economy is not working."

Where to start fixing our problems? Begin with the hemp solution. Read the book Hemp For Victory: A Global Warming Solution available at amazon.com and come on by the virtual museum at www.hempmuseum.us to learn more about the many benefits of hemp. Future generations will be glad you did too. There are free .pdf preview editions on the site of all three of Davis's books in his HEMP FOR VICTORY series A GLOBAL WARMING SOLUTION, THE WONDER HERB and THE TRILLION DOLLAR CROP.
